Radio
My first experience in radio began in 2002 when I approached my local hospital radio station to help collect requests from the patients. It was only a matter of weeks after joining before I was put behind the microphone and started presenting shows on the hospital radio station.
During the time I was at hospital radio, I was studying media at the South East Essex College. The campus had its own radio studio. I created my own radio station called Ultra FM and presented live shows across the campus. The station gained the attention of the local press when I was interviewing local MP’s live on air.
I was introduced to my local commercial radio station Essex Fm (now Heart SX) when station producer Paul Kitchener, offered me a job on the Saturday night ‘Club Essex’ show. This to me was a foot in the door at a big commercial radio station. Very eager to learn more I tried my best to be at the studio as often as I could. I was asked to help on the ‘Late Night Love’ show.
In November 2004 I co-presented the Weekend Breakfast show on Eastgate Fm. The station broadcast over the Christmas period to the area of Basildon. I also covered various shows on the station such as Breakfast and the mid morning show.
In mid 2005 I presented on FCUK FM, a former radio station which broadcast on Sky Digital, Online and in FCUK stores across the UK. The show came live from a shop window in Regent Street, London, where passers by could see me talking to the nation.
In 2007 I approached a community radio station, which was just about to go live on air after winning a 5-year community licence for the Maldon district. I did my 1st show on Saint FM 94.7 in December 2007 and over the many years I have continued to provide the station with pre-recorded content until August 2016.
In November 2008 I presented the ‘Saturday Show’ on Gateway Fm. Gateway Fm broadcast over across Basildon & East Thurrock on 97.8fm. I interviewed famous faces such as Cheryl Fergison (Eastenders) & Sandra Dickinson (Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy).
In 2016 I presented shows on Funky SX 103.7 playing the very best in urban & dance music across Southend on Sea. Funky SX was the first legal dance & urban radio station to be given a 5 year OFCOM licence in Essex. I presented various shows on the station until October 2016 when I was offered a show at Radio Essex.
I presented 'Essex Reboot' weekdays from 2pm for 10 months on Radio Essex. I also presented 'Afternoons' weekdays from 1pm-4pm until April 2018. From April 2018 to November 2018 I was presenting 'Essex Chilled' from 10pm-2am weekdays.
I was heard back on 'Afternoons' from 1pm-4pm Sunday to Friday from November 2018 to September 2019.
In October 2019 I started presenting the 'Big Drive Home' show every weekday afternoon between 4pm-7pm on Actual Radio - Local Radio for North East Essex which is available on DAB Digital Radio, Online, Actual Radio App & Smart Speakers. I presented my last show on 6th September 2024.
I can now be heard covering various shows across the UK, Europe & Middle East.
As technology has progressed rapidly over the last few years, I am now able to present a live or pre-recorded radio show from the comfort of my own home. I'm also available as a consultant for community, hospital, digital & commercial radio stations Please get in contact to discuss your requirements.
